Aquamation water-based Pet Cremation
While fire based pet cremation has a long history, water-based Aquamation is a century-old process that became an option for pets in 2007. Today there are over 600 Pet Aquamation pet cremation service providers in the USA (although Comforting Currents is the only Aquamation provider in Sarasota and Manatee Counties). Often called water pet cremation, it’s a gentle and peaceful process that helps your pet return to nature. It works by placing your pet in a special chamber with warm water and an earth-friendly alkaline solution, similar to how things break down in nature but sped up. Over a period of time, this warm water gently helps your pet's body return to its most basic elements, leaving behind only pure-white bone remains. This process is quiet and calm, offering a truly dignified farewell. There are some big advantages over traditional Fire-based cremation:
Water pet cremation does not release any greenhouse gases into the environment
The process uses 90 percent less energy than alternatives
The drastically lower heat and water-based approach is widely viewed as kind and more gentle
The process delivers clean, white cremains
One of the beautiful things about Aquamation is how much better it is to our planet, making it a wonderful choice for families and those who want to minimize their environmental footprint. It truly embodies a "green" goodbye, ensuring that your pet's final journey is as gentle on the Earth as it is on your pet. The resulting remains are also often lighter in color and more abundant, giving you more of your cherished companion to keep close. Choosing Aquamation allows you to honor your pet's memory with a method that reflects care, respect, and a commitment to a healthier environment.
Best of all, Aquamation costs the same as traditional cremation.
